Eighty or so boys and young men participated in a new football camp called Commitment 4 Change, which aims to teach children from ages 8 to 17 how to better play the game — and equip them with what they need to succeed both on and off the field. The five-day camp was organized by retired Atlanta Falcon Keion Carpenter and former Green Bay Packer Antonio Freeman, both Baltimore natives.

    Maryland Pedestrian Accident Lawyers

The streets can be a dangerous place for those on foot. While there are many rules and regulations in place to protect passers-by, careless drivers often fail to adequately take into account the rights of the pedestrian. The negligence of drivers on the road places those walking the streets at a tremendous risk for injury and even death in Maryland every day. Our experienced Maryland pedestrian accident lawyers can help you bring your case to court.

Have you or a loved one been involved in a pedestrian accident while walking on a sidewalk or intersection? If so, contact our Maryland Pedestrian Accident Lawyers today!

Major factors which contribute to pedestrian accidents in Maryland include:

    • The failure of a motorist to yield at a crosswalk, stop sign, or traffic light
    • Drunk Driving
    • Motorists' lack of attention to the road
    • Driver negligence
    • Speeding
    • Reckless driving

Traffic accidents are responsible for countless fatalities and injuries in the United States and Maryland every year. According to recently gathered statistics, pedestrians are particularly vulnerable. A recent National Traffic Highway Safety Administration study found that a person on foot is injured in an accident every 8 minutes. To make matters worse, a person is killed on foot in an accident every 108 minutes. In 2005, over 64,000 people were injured by a motorist while walking the streets. Our Maryland pedestrian accident lawyers can help recover damages for these unfortunate incidents.

Often times, motorists are responsible for accidents involving people on foot. Pedestrians are at the mercy of drivers on the road, even though walking affords most people the right-of-way in various situations. People are often struck by drivers on a crosswalk because the motorist was speeding, intoxicated, or not paying attention to the road. People on foot are also vulnerable to being struck by a vehicle in other areas marked as safe for those walking. Such collisions can leave a person permanently disabled - a heavy price to pay for the carelessness of others. If you or someone you know has been struck by a negligent motorist while walking, one of our Maryland pedestrian accident lawyers at Goldberg, Finnegan & Mester can help you get the compensation you deserve.
